There were plenty of smiles at Whitehall Elementary today as Ms. Liz Maurer, 1st Grade Teacher, and Mr. Sean Fallon, Librarian, were surprised with awards supporting their classrooms and students.
Local franchise owner Pat Powers and Curt Nagle, People Experience Lead, joined Principal Ms. Baker and Assistant Principal Ms. Manfredi to make the surprise extra special. Students were right there to celebrate alongside their teachers, making for a memorable moment in both classrooms.

The recognition comes through the BigGee McDonald’s Back-to-School Bundles Program, which provides local educators with funding to bring new ideas and resources into their schools. Mr. Fallon plans to use his award to help develop a Makerspace in the Whitehall library, creating more opportunities for students to build, experiment, create and explore through hands-on learning.
Most importantly, today was a celebration of two educators who continue to find meaningful ways to support their students. Congratulations to Ms. Maurer and Mr. Fallon! We are grateful to our community partners for helping make investments like these possible and for recognizing the great work happening at Whitehall Elementary and across the entire Monroe Township Public Schools district!
