Special Visitor: Therapy Dog Gracey Visits Pre-K Students

Posted Date: 05/21/26 (01:18 PM)

Smiles, stories, and plenty of tail wags filled the classrooms at ABC Me Grow today as our Pre-K students welcomed Gracey, a 6-year-old cockapoo therapy dog, for a special visit alongside Ms. Cassidy and Ms. Driscoll’s classes.🐶

Students spent the morning learning about the important role therapy dogs play in helping others feel safe, calm, and supported. After reading a story together, students had the opportunity to interact with Gracey firsthand — asking questions, practicing gentle interaction, and sharing lots of excitement as she made her way around the classroom. Special thank you to 'Alliance of Therapy Dogs' and today's facilitator, Lori DuBois for a special experience!

Experiences like these help bring learning to life for our youngest learners, creating meaningful moments that blend literacy, social-emotional learning, and community connection into one unforgettable morning at Monroe Township’s Pre-K program.

The therapy dog visits will continue throughout today and next Thursday, giving all Monroe Pre-K classes the opportunity to meet Gracey and participate.
